Fleet Submarine (SSN)
slider by cssSlider.com v2.1
Designed to operate as long range independent strike units.
The Admiralty made a change in the design of this class, it was decided to make them wider, have a longer pressure hull but shorter overall hull length than the previous Churchill and Valiant classes.
This class would provide both an anti-submarine and anti-surface warfare role with the introduction of the Mk 24 Tigerfish and Sub Harpoon.
