Departed Trincomalee September 1945 for return jouney to the UK.

Statesman was modified after the war into a high speed target boat for use in training anti-submarine forces.
Her hull and casing was strealined and the gun armament removed. Higher capacity batteries were fitted and her motors uprated.
This boat was loaned to the French Navy for Anti-Submarine Training and renamed Sultane, 1952 to 5th November 1959.

Sold 3rd January 1961.
