Completed twelve 'War Patrols', she was lost on her thirteenth patrol.
March 1940 - Patrolling Sunda Strait observing German shipping in the Dutch East Indies harbours.
1940-1941 - Sinks two ships of some 6,000 tons.
Lost, 6th December 1941 off the approaches to the Gulf of Corinth.
Struck a mine on the starboard side forward and dived to the bottom, one survivor (Leading Stoker Capes).
The wreck of Perseus has since been found and his story corroborated.
